One of the ways in which Fortnite maintains its position near the top of the video game heap is its constant stream of updates and new content. The game is always introducing new weapons, new systems, and even new locations. There may be a single Fortnite map, but the additions keep it from becoming stale. Of course, each new addition needs to go somewhere on Fortnite's map - which means something else has to be removed. Some locations, now lost to time, are worthy of remembrance in this, a small grouping of the best POIs that have been replaced in Fortnite.
The Fortnite map is filled with all manner of interesting POIs - Points of Interest. These locations can have names like "Salty Tower" or "Retail Row" and are the main battlegrounds within the battle royale. Named locations often have both the best and most plentiful loot, making them a popular spot to drop in-game. The heat map of the most dangerous spots in Fortnite further bear this out. That's not to say that unnamed or otherwise unassuming spots aren't also worth a visit, however.
A great POI in Fortnite is not only defined by its loot potential. Some of the more memorable locations in the game's history have had little to no loot. A great Fortnite POI is, instead, defined by its design. A good design can harbor surprise mechanics, a nod to a fun tie-in property, or be just plan weird enough to stick in players' memories.

Pipeman and Hayman

These two cool dudes are just big statues. That's it. They don't 'do' anything, and there isn't any sort of broader story involving them. They're just some interesting décor. These kinds of decorations really help to make the world of Fortnite fun to explore. They will be missed.

Bandit Barge (Including Ships)

Before Fortnite put an end to the Sea Shanty memes, it had a season filled with various pirate-themed locations. One was the Bandit Barge. What makes the Barge a memorable location is the fact that it (and some of the other ships that season) moved around the map during the time it was in play. It sailed across the sea as the season wore on. The incremental change in location went a long way in bringing that sea-faring theme to life.

Hey Boo Megastore

In addition to having a top-notch pun for a name, the Hey Boo Megastore was a great POI in Fortnite. The pop-up Halloween store has existed in a few different locations across the map, much like it's real-world counterparts.
Who knows - the Hey Boo Megastore may return to Fortnite's map come the spooky season.

Colossal Coliseum

In a world filled with makeshift battle arenas, it was a lovely change of pace to be confronted with a purpose-built arena. The Colossal Coliseum in Fortnite was a fascinating building for players to explore, as there was a huge labyrinth of underground tunnels beneath the arena floor. It also changed throughout that season of Fortnite - in a historically accurate way!

Kit's Cantina

The Razor Crest in Fortnite may have gotten more attention, but it's Kit's Cantina that will be fondly remembered in the annals of history. Everyone loves a Star Wars crossover - especially when it includes the Mos Eisley Cantina song.

Tomato Town

Speaking of memorable songs - the biggest Fortnite meme in the world right now is the "Chug Jug with You" parody jam. That infectious earworm has resurrected Tomato Town in the internet zeitgeist, reminding the world what was lost when Tomato Town was retired.
As Fortnite continues to receive updates, there will undoubtedly be more entrants into this Hall of Fame for past locations. Fan-favorites will be rotated out in favor of something new. Time, as with all things, eventually comes for even the most beloved of Fortnite Points of Interest.
